Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Contingency Planning Workshop

Poor families and communities in the Bondoc project sites are vulnerable due to their exposure to several risks such as climate-induce hazards, armed conflict and unstable sources of income and livelihoods. Local governments and communities also need help in coping with and mitigating the negative impacts of natural disasters.

The Inter-agency Programme to Nurture Peace, Security and Decent Work through Local Development in Conflict Areas of the Philippines (Bondoc LED) integrates disaster risks reduction component as a means to enhance the coping and adaptation capacities of local governments and vulnerable groups such as farmers, fishers and women.
The Planning Workshop will help in developing the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Contingency Plan of local government partners in Bondoc Peninsula, Quezon Province. It will involve the DRRM Council of the Province and Municipalities of Unisan and Catanauan and local government officials.
