    Report on the training workshop of district labour inspectors, Mbale, Uganda, September 2011

    The workshop was aimed at increasing awareness and knowledge of the WFCL and a better understanding of their implications for the wellbeing of children and the development of the country in general. Participants were able to receive, discuss, and analyze information that will allow them to identify the roles and means of action of labour inspectorates and inspectors in regard to the active prevention, withdrawal/referral, and protection of working children.

    This report reviews the current state of knowledge concerning children in hazardous work and presents the case for a new focus on the issue as part of the wider global effort to eliminate the worst forms of child labour.
