The Jamaica National Youth Activity Survey (JYAS) 2016 is the product of a partnership between the Statistical Institute of Jamaica and the International Labour Organization (ILO). It is the first stand-alone survey of children’s activities conducted nationally. The main objective of the survey is to collect comprehensive information on children’s engagement in economic activities.

Within the framework of the Regional Refugee Response and Resilience Plan (3RP), the ILO has adopted a development-focused and employment-driven strategy to support host communities and refugees in Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey. It aims to preserve social and economic stability and enhance resilience at the national level, in line with national plans and chapters of the 3RP. Embedded in the principles of decent work, the ILO strategy builds on its core mandate to promote employment, social dialogue, social protection and international labour standards.

Ethiopia National Child Labour Survey (NCLS) 2015

The Ethiopia NCLS 2015 was conducted by the Ethiopia Central Statistical Agency (CSA) in May 2015 and collected information on the demographic characteristics of the population, including their education, health, employment, migration, and housing characteristics. The Ethiopia NCLS 2015 is second of its kind and it covered 721 enumeration areas both in urban and rural settings with a total of 21,300 households interviewed having at least one target child aged 5 to 17 years.

Third-party monitoring of measures against child labour and forced labour during the 2017 cotton harvest in Uzbekistan

This report has been prepared by the International Labour Office pursuant to an agreement between the ILO and the World Bank to carry out third-party monitoring of the World Bank-financed projects in agriculture, water and education sectors in Uzbekistan. Third party monitoring was undertaken and reported on also in 2015 and 2016. The ILO is grateful for the cooperation of the tripartite constituents of Uzbekistan in the monitoring and assessment process. The ILO has tried to reflect the constructive comments and input received from national governmental and non-governmental organizations, including civil society representatives, throughout the process. In line with the request of its partners in Uzbekistan the report contains a number of concrete suggestions for further opportunities, including cooperation involving the ILO and the World Bank. The ILO alone is responsible for the conclusions in this report.
