This year’s annual World Day against Child Labour will put the spotlight on the progress that ILO Member States have made in the application of the ILO’s Conventions on Child Labour.

GENEVA (ILO News) – This year’s annual World Day against Child Labour will put the spotlight on the progress that ILO Member States have made in the application of the ILO’s Conventions on Child Labour.

The theme for this year’s World Day is “Human Rights and Social Justice: Let’s end child labour”.

The ILO will mark the occasion of this year's event through a Policy Note entitled, “Tackling Child Labour: From Commitment to Action,” which lays out the steps which are being taken by ILO's Member States to address the issue of Child Labour, as well as the remaining challenges.

Events for the World Day against Child Labour 2012

High-level panels, media events, awareness raising campaigns, cultural performances will comprise the celebrations for this year’s World Day, which will be held in more than fifty countries around the world. Events will involve the participation of governments, employers and workers, other UN organisations and non-governmental organisations.
