ILO volume ‘Talking through the Crisis’ presented at the EU-China Policy Dialogue
On 25 September, during the EU-China Policy Dialogue, ILO officials were invited in order to present the 2017 volume “Talking through the Crisis: Social Dialogue and Industrial Relations in Selected EU Countries.” The Policy Dialogue is a two-day event jointly organised by the European Commission - DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion - and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of P. R. China. The event gathered EU and MoHRSS officials, including Director-General of DG Employment Michel Servoz and MoHRSS Vice Minister Qui Xiaoping, representatives of the social partners (ETUC and BusinessEurope), academia as well as international organisations, including the ILO and Eurofound. The ILO was represented by Claire Courtaille (Director of the Brussels office) and Igor Guardiancich (Governance and Tripartism Department). The presentation elicited a lively discussion and comments by the social partners as well as spurred questions from the Chinese counterparts who are interested in European best practice.
