Events and meetings

The ILO Country Office for Viet Nam organizes and takes part in a number of events and meetings. Below is a list of upcoming and past events. Any queries should be sent to the office by email.

  1. World Day Against Child Labour campaign

    12 June 2018

    To celebrate the conduct the World day against Child labour (WDACL) 2018, ENHANCE project will cooperate with MOLISA, UNs agencies and other relevant stakeholders to conduct the WDACL campaign.

  2. Training and dialogue on Labour policies and Workshop on Occupational Safety and Health and effective use of energy

    7 - 8 June 2018

    Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with the ILO organized the event aiming at promoting the implementation of social responsible labour practices of enterprises in the South.

  1. Capacity Building Workshop for VCCI and Business Associations on Assessment of Minimum Wage (MW) and Consultation for minimum wage 2019

    30 May 2018

    VCCI is an active member of the National Wage Council (NWC) representing employer community in annual regional MW fixing.To prepare for the 2019 minimum wage fixing process of the NWC by September 2018, the workshop is organized as a support to VCCI for capacity building on assessment of Minimum Wage to develop their own technical/position paper on minimum wage 2019.

  2. Workshop on Promoting effective organization and operation of Industrial/Export Processing/Economic Zone Trade Unions (IZ/EPZ/EZ)

    21 - 22 May 2018

    Viet Nam's joining a number of new generation Free Trade Agreements is predicted to exert strong impacts on the development of enterprises, which creates both opportunities and challenges for trade union( (TU) activities and industrial relations, especially in IZs employing a large numbers of workers. The workshop is organized to support VGCL overall approach in this context to better prepare for the coming changes in TU activities and to better promote TU performance towards stable and harmonious industrial relations.

  3. STED analysis for the agriculture: livestock sub-sector

    The workshop is organized with the aim to formulate an action plan to develop skills for livestock sector.

  5. Industrial Relations (IR) Report 2017: Validation Workshop

    9 May 2018

    MOLISA is preparing 2017 IR report with inputs from different national authorities and social partners - which is expected to provide official information, analysis and assessment of overall and different areas of industrial relations development in Viet Nam in 2017. The validation workshop is organized to support the process of wider consultation for the Report and enhancing nation capacity to measure policy impacts and identify IR policies through tripatite consultation.

  6. SCORE training on Workplace Cooperation (Module 1) and OSH (Module 5) for H&M accessory suppliers in the North

    5 - 6 May 2018

    This combined training is a pilot activity of SCORE VN and VCCI HCM in order to raise awareness of the program to new enterprises in the North as well as to encourage engagement from international buyers such as H&M to the implementation of SCORE.

  1. Vietnam Association of Manpower and Supply Code of Conduct 2018 and Monitoring Tool Launch Workshops

    24 - 26 April 2018

    The event aims to highlight the updated Code of Conduct, specifically focusing on monitoring of compliance with the Code and increased business opportunities for Vietnamese recruitment agencies. Apart from introducing the new Code and monitoring tool, the event provides an opportunity for recruitment agencies to be trained on new standards of compliance. By bringing together recruitment agencies with industry associations from destination countries, human rights and business initiatives and destination employers, the event will demonstrate the ‘business case’ for ethical recruitment in the Vietnamese recruitment industry.

  2. Youth-led OSH Information session for vocational training school students

    18 April 2018

    This event provides an interactive opportunity for 200 students to increase their understanding and knowledge of OSH that benefit them in their future jobs.

  3. “Safe and Healthy Generation: Improving Occupational Safety and Health for young workers” Forum

    16 April 2018

    The event is organized on the occasion of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2018, aiming at increasing the attention of the tripartite partners, relevant stakeholders and the public on the importance of improving OSH for youth, taking into account young worker OSH vulnerability.

  4. Training course on Social Responsible Labour Practices in the electronics sector in Viet Nam

    5 - 6 April 2018

    Under the framework of the project “More and Better Jobs Through Socially Responsible Labour Practices in Viet Nam” International Labour Organization Viet Nam and Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry organizes the training course on Social Responsible Labour Practices in the electronics sector in Viet Nam in order to enhance capacity for electronics enterprises towards promoting experience sharing in implementing social responsible labour practices.

  1. Consultation workshop on Convention No. 98 and No. 87

    29 - 30 March 2018

    The activity will be organized by ILO and Ministry of Labour, Invalid, and Social Affairs with the goal to develop a specific plan to ratify Convention No. 98 and raise awareness on ILO Convention No. 87.

  2. VGCL/NIRF Review Meeting for 2017 and Planning for 2018

    27 - 28 March 2018

    The main objective of the assignment is to conduct a review on VGCL/NIRF collaborative activities and achievements in 2017, as well as to develop and reach consensus on the workplan for 2018

  3. Planning workshop for establishment of human resource club in tourism sector in Da Nang and discussion on social insurance issues

    20 March 2018

    The main objective of the assignment is to facilitate the establishment of a HR Club in tourism sector in Da Nang and facilitate a platform for discussions on social insurance issues which exert direct impacts on businesses and workers.

  4. Advocacy meetings with ILO child labour specialists, Viet Nam Government and Viet Nam Committee for Children

    20 - 24 March 2018

    The activity will be organized from 20 March to 24 March with the aim to support in the revision of the Labour Code and preparation for conducting the National Child Labour Survey 2018

  2. Midterm Evaluation National Stakeholder Workshop

    A national stakeholder workshop in Hanoi will be organized on 2nd February 2018 to share the preliminary findings with the ILO and national stakeholders at the end of mid term evaluation field visits.
