SCORE Vietnam continues its support for the national enterprise consultant network

This activity was part of the support of ILO is SCORE programme for the Assistant Center for Small and Medium Enterprises in North Viet Nam on the future establishment of the national enterprise consultant network.

A total number of 90 enterprise consultants will have been trained thanks to this collaboration between SCORE Vietnam and SME TAC.
On 12 and 13 November 2019, ILO’s SCORE Viet Nam programme in cooperation with the Assistance Center for Small and Medium Enterprises – North Viet Nam (SME TAC) organised the second training for 30 SME consultants in Hanoi.

In this training of consultants, SCORE Viet Nam introduced to participants the approach of worker engagement and linkage between good working condition and high productivity. Practical examples of the enterprise consulting process and success stories in SCORE countries and in Viet Nam in particular were also discussed among participating consultants.

This activity was part of the support of ILO’s SCORE programme for SME TAC on the future establishment of the national enterprise consultant network guided by the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s Circular No. 06/2019/TT-BKHDT dated 29 March 2019 detailing the implementation of government circular No. 39/2018/ND-CP dated 11 March 2018 on SME support laws.

With proven expertise in SME training and consulting in 15 countries including Viet Nam, SCORE programme is assisting SME TAC to strengthen the capacity of potential enterprise consultants, build training process and to define standards for consultants in the national enterprise consultant network through a quality assessment system.

By the end of 2019, a total number of 90 enterprise consultants, among whom 50% are female, will have been trained thanks to this collaboration between SCORE Vietnam and SME TAC. Also under this agreement, a consultation workshop to collect technical input for “Standards of consultants in the national enterprise consultant network” was organised in May 2019.

“The practical experiences from SCORE Training in Vietnam are very useful for our consultants. We got high satisfaction rate from the consultants for these trainings. This network of consultants will be our key channel to deliver effective support to a larger number of local SMEs. In 2020 we plan to further embed SCORE Training contents to our SMEs training and consulting programs,” says Le Van Khuong, Director of SME TAC.

SCORE Viet Nam started in 2011 with a focus on the wood processing industry and has supported sector associations to deliver training and consulting services to 170 enterprises, representing over 75,000 workers. “By supporting local partners like SME TAC to embed relevant elements of the SCORE Training into their portfolio, we would like to contribute to the development of quality enterprise consultant networks and at the same time, sustain what SCORE programme has achieved in Viet Nam,” says Stephan Ulrich, SCORE’s Regional Programme Manager.
