World Day against Child Labour Campaign 2019


In this ILO Centenary year, the World Day Against Child Labour will look back on progress achieved over a 100 years of ILO support to countries on tackling child labour. This year WDACL theme is “CHILDREN SHOULDN’T WORK IN FIELDS, BUT ON DREAMS!”

This campaign aims to accelerate actions to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) target 8.7 of ending all forms of child labour by 2025. In support of Alliance 8.7, whose main aim is to achieve SDG Target 8.7, we call for immediate action to address the remaining challenges so that the world community can get firmly on track towards eliminating child labour in all its forms.

The campaign including 3 WDACL awareness raising events will be organized in Ha Noi, HCM city and An Giang in order to:
  • Improve understanding about of child labour, especially among participants and children in the event
  • Create an opportunity for children at risk and children in the project areas to participate in creational event to promote their dreams
  • Advocate for the attention of related Ministries and organizations on Alliance 8.7 in Viet Nam
  • To promote media coverage the WDACL and child labour issue.
On the 7th June 2019 in Hanoi, an event will be organized with about 200 children and young children from project areas in Hanoi and from different clubs, associations, social protection centers and 60 representatives from related Ministries such as MOLISA, MPS, MOJ, MOET, MARD, VCCI, VCA, VGCL, National Assembly, Women’s Union, Youth’s Union, representatives from NGOs, Associations and Media

On the 11th June 2019 in HCM city the event will be organized with 120 children and young children from project areas in HCM city and from different clubs, associations, social protection centers and 80 representatives from related departments such as DOLISA, Department of Public Security, DOET, Party Secretary, VCCI, VCA, VGCL, Women’s Union, Youth’s Union, representatives from NGOs, Associations, Enterprises, Teachers, districts and communes participants, parents and media

On the 18 and 19 June 2019 in An Giang about 90 children from project areas and 30 representative from related departments in An Giang will be participating in the events.
