ILO specialists praised by the Government

Two former ILO specialists have been awarded special medals by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs for their outstanding contributions to Viet Nam.

HANOI (ILO News) – Two former ILO specialists have been awarded special medals by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs for their outstanding contributions to Viet Nam.

Former ILO Viet Nam specialist on social protection, Carlos Galian, received the Medal “For the cause of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs” today for his support to the reform of the Social Insurance Law and the implementation of a social protection floor in the country.

Earlier, former senior specialist on labour law and labour standards of the ILO in Asia and the Pacific, Tim de Meyer, who is now country director of the ILO in China, was highly recognized for his technical contribution to improve the labour law system in Viet Nam.
