Employment promotion with an emphasis on youth employment

Moldova

In Moldova, the ILO/Sida Partnership for the biennium 2016-2017 would serve to the scale up of the current ILO UNDP effort to create both a National Employment Strategy, as well as capacity building of government and social partners, moving one step beyond it in the sense of achieving more elaborated interventions for youth, as well as increasing the ability for implementing measures that would support both the supply side as well as the demand side for employment.

The following outputs are expected:
  • A NES with a clear youth and migration focus developed by Moldovan constituents;
  • The capacity of Moldovan constituents on macroeconomic policies for promoting more and better jobs and for tackling inequalities strengthened;
  • The capacity of Moldovan constituents to design, implement, monitor and evaluate engendered youth employment policies enhanced;
  • The capacity of labour market institutions to monitor and evaluate targeted youth employment services and programmes strengthened;
  • National skills system enchanted and better aligned with labour market demand;
  • Young people’s access to quality career education and guidance services improved;
  • Young people better prepared to take informed business start-up decisions.
