It enables trade unions gain in-depth understanding of the HIV/AIDS through their networks and programmes. The specific objectives of this handbook are: to enhance the knowledge level of the trade unions about STIs/HIV/AIDS; to enable the trade unions appreciate their role in developing policy and programmes on HIV/AIDS; to provide guidelines to trade unions to help them play their role effectively in strengthening the world of work response to HIV/AIDS.
