International Labour Organization Position Paper to the 2013 UN High-level Dialogue on International Migration and Development. Given that a great part of international migration today concerns persons who are economically active, the ILO considers international migration to be essentially about the search for productive employment, decent work and livelihoods, with the result that the world of work cuts across all three pillars of sustainable development (economic, social and environmental).
