The future of diversity

The ILO and the École nationale d’administration publique du Québec (ENAP) embarked on a common project on “The future of diversity” to enrich the understanding of the issue of diversity in the workplace; reflect on the challenges in the fight against discrimination in employment; and raise awareness of inequalities in labour markets where some groups of workers are disadvantaged while others enjoy privileges, often even without realizing it.

A major research conference on this topic was held in Quebec City, Canada, on 11-13 December 2019. Please see: http://futurdeladiversite.org/

In December 2021, the ILO brought out a collective volume that presents a variety of perspectives on diversity in the world of work and analyses the multiple layers of diversity: diverse societies, diversity in organizations and diversity at the individual level. Three chapters offer reflections on migration and diversity, dealing specifically with labour migration.

The book can be accessed here.

The French version will be published by Presses de l’Université du Québec (PUQ).
