    During the 101st Session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva, LAB/ADMIN held an information session for delegates to update them on the ILO's current work in the area of labour administration and inspection and to share experiences from a number of countries on recent developments and priorities at the national level.

    Workshops on Labour Inspection organized for social partners

    The ILO carried out two workshops in Ukraine on the role of labour inspection under the project Improving Collective Bargaining and Labour Law Compliance in Ukraine. The 50 attendees represented workers’ and employers’ organizations from different regions in the country. The workshops gave participants an opportunity to discuss among themselves and with the labour inspectorate, the current challenges for social partners in achieving decent working conditions and the possible means of tripartite cooperation in the area of labour inspection.

    Meeting on Performance Management with South African Department of Labour

    A meeting between the ILO mission (Ludek Rychly, LAB/ADMIN and Limpho Mandoro, ILO Pretoria) and the Performance Management Team of South African Department of Labour, focussed on ILO assistance to improve the performance management system in South Africa's labour administration with special focus on inspection and enforcement services.

    Indonesia Establishes Tripartite Labour Inspection Committee

    30 April 2012

    In April 2012, the Directorate General of Labour Inspection of the Indonesia Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration established the country’s first ever tripartite Labour Inspection Committee. The Committee is governed by Ministerial Decree No. 10 of 2012 and is designed to strengthen the labour inspection system in Indonesia through the use of social dialogue.

    Guinea Labour Inspectors Prepare National Work Plan Conakry, Guinea 24-27 April 2012

    LAB/ADMIN together with the ILO Office in Dakar held a training workshop for some 35 labour inspectors and administrators in Conakry, Guinea, during which participants prepared a national work plan on labour inspection for the next six months.

    Presentation of Findings and Recommendations on Namibia's System of Labour Administration and Labour Inspection

    Following a LAB/ADMIN needs assessment of Namibia's labour administration and labour inspection systems in the Fall of 2011, Mr. Ludek Rychly (Senior Labour Administration/Inspection Specialist, ILO Geneva) and Mr. Limpho Mandoro (Social Dialogue and Labour Administration Specialist, ILO Pretoria) presented the findings and recommendations of the report in person to the Management Committee of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
