At its 39th Session (10-28 September), the Human Rights Council had before it a study of the Expert Mechanisms on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples on free, prior and informed consent. In this regard, the ILO delivered a statement that clarified the scope of Indigenous and Tribal Peoples' Convention, 1989.
