With this statement, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon addressed himself to the UN General Assembly Thematic Debate on Entrepreneurship for Development held on 26 June 2013 in New York. His opening statement made reference to Lorna Rutto, a successful entrepreneur from Kenya. Supported by the ILO-YEF Kenya Programme, Lorna started her own recycling company to produce street posts from plastic waste and showed, so Ban Ki-moon, that green innovations can bring tremendous job opportunities for young people.
