Fishers first: Good practices to end labour exploitation at sea

This report is to present, analyse and share good practices and innovative interventions from around the world aimed at eradicating forced labour and other forms of labour exploitation in the fishing industry.

This report was initially prepared as a background paper (see "Oslo Conference background document" at the right) for an international expert meeting on labour exploitation in the fishing sector in the Atlantic region, orgarnised by the ILO on 25-26 November 2015, in Oslo, Norway. This final version was enriched with the input, knowledge and expertise from the participants to the above-meeting. The purpose of this report is to present, analyse and share good practices and innovative interventions from around the world aimed at eradicating forced labour and other forms of labour exploitation in the fishing industry.
