    Fair Media Training - The ILO’s Integrated Programme on Fair Recruitment (FAIR) in partnership with the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines conducted a Fair Media Training aimed to equip professional journalists with tools of right-based reporting on labour migration.

    GLA and ILO join forces in tackling abusive recruitment practices

    The ILO and the GLA have been collaborating closely in the fight against fraudulent and abusive recruitment practices, forced labour and trafficking in persons over the past few years.

  5. Tripartite Meeting of Experts to Develop Guidance on Fair Recruitment

    The ILO Governing Body at its 326th Session agreed to convene in September 2016 a three-day “Tripartite Meeting of Experts to Develop Guidance on Fair Recruitment”, with the objective to adopt ILO guidelines on fair recruitment, encompassing both cross-border and national recruitment. The outcomes of such a meeting will inform the general discussion on labour migration that has been included on the agenda of the International Labour Conference in June 2017, as well as the second recurrent discussion on fundamental principles and rights at work.

  6. Pilot testing a fair recruitment model in the apparel industry

    The ILO’s FAIR project is currently implementing in collaboration with BWJ a pilot intervention model to eliminate deceptive and coercive recruitment practices in the apparel industry in Jordan and thus reduce the vulnerability of migrant workers to forced labour. The aim of this pilot intervention is to demonstrate that fair recruitment is possible and that it benefits both employers and workers. A one-day workshop will be organized on April 11th, 2016 in Amman to present the objectives and expected results of this pilot programme.

  7. ILO and UGTT meeting on unionization of migrant workers in Tunisia

    The meeting presented an opportunity to discuss the FAIR project’s strategic axes related to the labour movement in Tunisia.

  8. Tripartite Meeting on Fair Recruitment in Tunisia

    The meeting focused on validating the terms of references of an upcoming ILO diagnostic study on fair recruitment processes in Tunisia.
