Road Rehabilitation through Labour Based Technology “Do-Nou” techniques in JSB Project in Sudan

The project JSB Project “Building community resilience with young people of Mayo Suburb Khartoum through improved access to water” has been implemented by ILO through funding from  the people of Japan. The project is an emergency employment response to support people affected by by COVID-19 and unprecedented flooding in 2020. In this regards the targeted youth community were trained on rehabilitation of rural road using the EIIP approach and using  “Do-nou” technology. The project rehabilitated 3.25km road that contributed better access of transport to market and reduce travel time. The communities people also get advantage from improved access to transport the water from local transport means. The road rehabilitation work get direct employment cash for work by  300 youths in applying ILO’s decent works environment.
