    Trade and Employment in a Vertically Specialized World

    This paper decomposes the employment effects of a country’s trade into five components, specifically the labour content (1) in exports, (2) in imports, (3) in the import content of exports, (4) in the export content of imports, and (5) in intermediates contained in imports from a third country using the factor-content and input-output methods.

    Tricked and Trapped: Human Trafficking in the Middle East

    This study sheds light on the situation of trafficked adult workers in the Middle East, both women and men. It analyses the complex processes by which vulnerable migrant workers are tricked and trapped into forced labour in various types of work in the region, and the constraints that prevent them from leaving.

    The comments of the ILO's Supervisory bodies: Usefulness in the context of the sanction-based dimension of labour provisions in US free trade agreements

    National system for recording and notification of occupational diseases: Practical guide

    This practical guide has been prepared to help member States to establish and improve their national systems for recording and notification of occupational diseases. It is aimed at relevant people in the responsible authorities, such as the ministries of labour, health, and social security; at those in occupational safety and health inspection, occupational safety and health services, national social security institutions, and compensation boards; and at employers, workers and their organizations. It also includes practical and detailed guidance on compiling and analyzing data collected through national disease surveillance systems.

    Structure Matters: Sectoral drivers of growth and the labour productivity-employment relationship

    The paper uses accounting methods to decompose aggregate labour productivity and employment growth into their sectoral components as well as into within-sector and employment reallocation effects for a sample of 81 countries.

    Good Practices in Labour Inspection on HIV and AIDS

    This publication is a set of good practices on labour inspection with respect to HIV and AIDS which was prepared jointly by the LAB/ADMIN and the ILO Programme on HIV/AIDS and the World of Work (ILO/AIDS). It is a tool for labour inspectors, workers and employers to improve their understanding about the linkages between labour inspection and HIV and AIDS.
