  1. ILO holds kick-off briefing session for the project on the social and solidarity economy in Kyrgyzstan

    The briefing session was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan to introduce the Strengthening the Social and Solidarity Economy in Asia project to the ILO Constituents and social and solidarity economy (SSE) partners. The participants in the session included representatives from related government ministries, workers’ organizations, SSE institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.

  2. The UN Task Force on Social and Solidarity Economy (UNTFSSE) held its 41st regular meeting

    The 41st UNTFSSE meeting was held virtually on 07 December 2022. It brought together around 50 participants from seven member (ILO, UNRISD, ECLAC, UNDP, UNDESA, UNCTAD and OECD), eleven observer organizations (Catalyst2030, CIRIEC, CSEND, EMES, EURICSE, DIESIS, GSEF, Euclid Network, ICA, SSE International Forum, RIPESS) and two resource persons.

  3. ILO co-hosts the “Decent Work and the Social and Solidarity Economy” Seminar, a pre-event of the Japan Society for International Development (JASID)

    The SSE Research Group of the Japan Society for International Development (JASID), Solidaridad Japan, and ILO Office for Japan, held an event titled the "Decent Work and the Social Solidarity Economy (SSE)" on 2 December 2022. About 100 academics, co-operators, government officials and trade unionists attended the event at the JTUC-RENGO Hall, prior to the Japan Society for International Development (JASID) 33rd National Conference, which provided English-Japanese simultaneous interpretation, remotely as well as in person.

  4. Accelerating Progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals through the Social and Solidarity Economy

    The ILO will co-organize the session on “Accelerating Progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals through the Social and Solidarity Economy” as part of the ESCAP’s Business Innovation for the Sustainable development Goals Forum on 13-14 December 2022.

The participants included representatives from governments, employers’, and workers’ organizations, SSE institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.

  3. ILO COOP presents on “Decent Work and the Social and Solidarity Economy” pre-conference event of the Japan Society for International Development (JASID)

    The Japan Society for International Development (JASID), SSE Research Group Solidaridad Japan, and ILO Office for Japan will hold an event on "Decent Work and the Social Solidarity Economy (SSE)" on December 2, 2022 between 18.00 and 19.30 prior to the Japan Society for International Development (JASID) 33rd national conference.

  4. ILO COOP Participates in the CECOP Lights On Research Launch Conference in Italian

    On November 24, 2022, the European Confederation of Industrial and Service cooperatives (CECOP) launched the Italian translation of the report that documents how workers’ and social cooperatives can assist workers and enterprises in the transition to the formal economy in Europe.

  5. Twenty-one trainers complete My. Coop training of trainer’s programme on managing Palestinian agricultural cooperatives

    In the framework of the project on “Cooperative Support Programme CSP-OPT” the ILO organized a Training of Trainers on the My.Coop training package on management of agricultural cooperatives.

  6. The global advisory committee of the ILO’s initiative on statistics of cooperatives holds its 2nd meeting

    Five national researchers made presentations comparing their national contexts with the ILO’s guidelines concerning statistics of cooperatives at the 2nd meeting of the global advisory committee (GAC) of the ILO initiative on implementing the guidelines, held on November 15, 2022.
