  1. ILO COOP presents on “Decent Work and the Social and Solidarity Economy” pre-conference event of the Japan Society for International Development (JASID)

    The Japan Society for International Development (JASID), SSE Research Group Solidaridad Japan, and ILO Office for Japan will hold an event on "Decent Work and the Social Solidarity Economy (SSE)" on December 2, 2022 between 18.00 and 19.30 prior to the Japan Society for International Development (JASID) 33rd national conference.

  2. ILO COOP Participates in the CECOP Lights On Research Launch Conference in Italian

    On November 24, 2022, the European Confederation of Industrial and Service cooperatives (CECOP) launched the Italian translation of the report that documents how workers’ and social cooperatives can assist workers and enterprises in the transition to the formal economy in Europe.

  3. Twenty-one trainers complete My. Coop training of trainer’s programme on managing Palestinian agricultural cooperatives

    In the framework of the project on “Cooperative Support Programme CSP-OPT” the ILO organized a Training of Trainers on the My.Coop training package on management of agricultural cooperatives.

  4. The global advisory committee of the ILO’s initiative on statistics of cooperatives holds its 2nd meeting

    Five national researchers made presentations comparing their national contexts with the ILO’s guidelines concerning statistics of cooperatives at the 2nd meeting of the global advisory committee (GAC) of the ILO initiative on implementing the guidelines, held on November 15, 2022.

  5. The ILO’s 346th Governing Body (GB) session endorsed the Strategy and Action Plan (SAP) on Decent Work and the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE)

    The SAP, that was presented to the members of the 346th session of the ILO GB for their comments and suggestions on November 9th, received support from the tripartite constituents.

  6. The ILO participates in open dialogue on new scenarios for cooperatives and the social and solidarity economy in Uruguay

    On November 14th, the United Nations in Uruguay and the National Co-operativism Institute (INACOOP) held an open dialogue to discuss challenges, opportunities and new scenarios for coooperatives and the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) in the country.

  7. Coaching programme on Think.Coop and Start.Coop undertaken in Gaza

    The coaching programme took place in Gaza between 31 October and 2 November 2022 following the training of trainers (ToT) session that was undertaken on 15 – 23 August 2022.

  8. The Ten Year (2023-2032) Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) Strategy for Africa validated at African Union Tripartite Meeting

    The Tripartite Consultative Meeting took place in Cape Town, South Africa on 3-4 November 2022. It brought together tripartite constituents from across the continent to discuss the ten year SSE strategy and its implementation plan. The Strategy has already been validated by civil society and SSE organisations on 24-25 August 2022 in Windhoek, Namibia.

  9. ILO contributes to the HomeNet Southeast Asia (HNSEA) Thematic Workshop on Social Solidarity Economy

    The Workshop, that took place on 2nd November 2022 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, aimed to improve an understanding of the values and principles of the social and solidarity economy (SSE) from the perspective and experiences of homebased workers.

  10. A presentation on the resolution concerning decent work and the social and solidarity economy adopted at the 110th ILC is now available in multiple languages
