The UN Task Force on Social and Solidarity Economy (UNTFSSE) held its 41st regular meeting
20 December 2022
The 41st UNTFSSE meeting was held virtually on 07 December 2022. It brought together around 50 participants from seven member (ILO, UNRISD, ECLAC, UNDP, UNDESA, UNCTAD and OECD), eleven observer organizations (Catalyst2030, CIRIEC, CSEND, EMES, EURICSE, DIESIS, GSEF, Euclid Network, ICA, SSE International Forum, RIPESS) and two resource persons.

The ILO co-organized and participated in a session on implementing the Sustainable Development Goals through the social and solidarity economy (SSE) with UN ESCAP and Asian Solidarity Economy Council (ASEC). The session took place on December 14, 2022 as part of UN ESCAP’s Business Innovation for the SDGs Forum.

ILO co-hosts the “Decent Work and the Social and Solidarity Economy” Seminar, a pre-event of the Japan Society for International Development (JASID)

The SSE Research Group of the Japan Society for International Development (JASID), Solidaridad Japan, and ILO Office for Japan, held an event titled the "Decent Work and the Social Solidarity Economy (SSE)" on 2 December 2022. About 100 academics, co-operators, government officials and trade unionists attended the event at the JTUC-RENGO Hall, prior to the Japan Society for International Development (JASID) 33rd National Conference, which provided English-Japanese simultaneous interpretation, remotely as well as in person.

Strengthening cooperatives to address decent work deficits amongst host communities and refugees

Under the PROSPECTS programme in Kenya, a 10-day training for 24 trainers was organized with the aim of increasing their capacity to work with cooperatives by using ILO cooperatives establishment and management tools.

ILO holds three kick-off briefing sessions for the project on Strengthening the Social and Solidarity Economy in Asia

The three country briefing sessions for Mongolia, Cambodia, and Thailand were held to introduce the Strengthening the Social and Solidarity Economy in Asia project to the ILO Constituents and social and solidarity economy (SSE) partners. The participants included representatives from governments, employers’, and workers’ organizations, SSE institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.
