ILO COOP/SSE 100 Webinar V – “SSE momentum: Finance for Inclusion and the Future of Work during Covid-19 pandemic”

In a global context characterized by complex and pressing challenges, the social and solidarity economy (SSE) is receiving growing attention for its role and potential to address social and economic issues faced by individuals and communities. SSE is well positioned to address the emerging challenges related to the world of work as outlined in the ILO Centenary Declaration for the Future of Work.

The speakers will reflect on the key challenges related to the future of work, how they affect local communities, and what SSE institutions are doing or could do toward addressing them. They will highlight the key ingredients of SSE ecosystems, key trends in the SSE economy today, and the main drivers of growth for SSE organizations. The panelists will provide insights on the COVID-19 pandemic, its implications on SSE institutions and the role these institutions can play in crisis and post-crisis contexts.

The analysis provided by the speakers will be based on two research projects involving 15 countries from four continents: “Contribution of the Social and Solidarity Economy and of Social Finance to the Future of Work” and “Financial Mechanisms for Innovative Social and Solidarity Economy Ecosystems”.
