Addressing Youth, Employment and Migration Issues through Joint Programming

The Permanent Mission of Spain to the United Nations will host an event co-sponsored by the ILO and the Secretariat of the MDG Achievement Fund, “Addressing Youth, Employment and Migration Issues through Joint Programming”, to share good practices and lessons emerging from the implemenation of the UN joint work on Youth Employment and Migration.

Within the Fifty-First session of the Commission for Social Development (CSocD), to be held from 6 to 15 February 2013, with the Priority Theme "Promoting empowerment of people in achieving poverty eradication, social integration and full employment and decent work for all'', the Permanent Mission of Spain the United Nations will host the side event “Addressing Youth, Employment and Migration Issues through Joint Programming”, to share good practices and lessons emerging from the MDG Achievement Fund’s work on Youth Employment and Migration.

The MDG Achievement Fund is the result of a major partnership signed in December 2006 by the United Nations and the Government of Spain to contribute to progress on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). In this area of work, the MDG-F has partnered with the International Labour Organization (ILO) to ensure technical support, as well as generation and sharing of knowledge emerging from programmes addressing these issues.
