This issues paper has been prepared by the ILO as a basis for discussion at the Global Dialogue Forum on Initiatives to Promote Decent and Productive Work in the Chemical Industry.
This paper has five chapters. Chapter 1 discusses how sustainability contributes to promoting decent work in the chemical industry. Chapters 25 discuss employment trends, vocational education and training, sound management of chemicals, and industrial relations.
The structure of the paper is aligned with the MNE Declaration a voluntary instrument to promote good practice by enterprises and encourage the positive contribution that enterprises can make to economic and social progress based on the observance and promotion of international labour standards.
