ILO to publish World Employment and Social Outlook – Trends 2016 report

GENEVA – The International Labour Organization (ILO) is to launch its report, World Employment and Social Outlook - Trends 2016, on Tuesday, 19 January.


This year’s edition includes a forecast of global unemployment levels in developed, emerging and developing economies, with detailed charts and numbers. The projections take into account the slowdown in the global economy and other structural factors that shape employment patterns.

The report also focusses on the share of vulnerable employment as well as on the scale of the informal economy.

It provides policy guidance to boost decent work opportunities around the globe.
