Development of Modern and Efficient Labour Inspection

The ILO held a training workshop from 17-19 May on the “Development of Modern and Efficient Labour Inspection”.

The event was jointly organized by LAB/ADMIN, the ILO Country Office for Mexico and Cuba, the Mexican Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare and the International Training Centre of the ILO, in collaboration with ILO technical cooperation projects in the region. Labour inspectorate representatives from 14 countries attended the activity (Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Dominican Republic). The objective of the workshop was to introduce participants to the ILO’s training curriculum on labour inspection as well as other related studies, guides and publications recently developed by LAB/ADMIN. It was also an opportunity to share experiences and develop common strategies for strengthening labour inspection in the region.
