“Labour Inspection Reform in South Africa: Training of Trainers, Managers”

LAB/ADMIN officials (Mr G. Casale, Director, Mr L. Rychly, Senior Specialist and Mr A. Sivananthiran, Consultant) with the assistance of the ILO Pretoria Office gave a major training workshop for managers of labour inspection departments in South Africa. The training of trainers is a key component of the Norwegian funded project, “Strengthening labour inspection services”. All provincial labour inspectorates attended this training workshop.

Workshop | Johannesburg, South Africa | 12 May 2010
The workshop was the second major activity organised under the Norwegian Project: “Strengthening Labour inspection Services”. This activity was intended to sensitise managers on key issues on labour inspection. It gave an opportunity to upgrade skills in planning, programming, monitoring and evaluating labour inspections both at HQ and in the field. It also served as a platform for pilot test the 12 recently produced Labour Inspection Training modules, developed by LAB/ADMIN and ITC Turin. The training workshop was attended by 20 labour inspection managers coming from the 10 Provinces of South Africa as well as from the Head Office of Labour Inspection in Pretoria.
