Decision on the 16th item on the agenda: Reports of the Officers of the Governing Body

Second report: Arrangements for the 16th Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting

On the recommendation of its Officers the Governing Body approved the following arrangements for the 16th Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting:

(a) the Meeting will be held in Bali, Indonesia, from 6 to 9 December 2016;

(b) the official languages will be English, Arabic and Chinese;

(c) the agenda will be to review, on the basis of the Report of the Director-General, progress made on the Asian Decent Work Decade (adopted by constituents in 2006), assess the evolving economic and social circumstances and identify bottlenecks hampering further progress so as to better implement and realize the ILO’s Decent Work Agenda in the region. Furthermore, as 2016 is the first year of the new Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) framework, the Meeting will consider how to promote equitable and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work (SDG 8).
