Report of the Officers of the Governing Body

The Governing Body decided:

(a) that the election of the Director-General would take place at the opening of its 303rd Session, on Tuesday, 18 November 2008, at 3 p.m., and that the mandate of the Director-General, when appointed, would take effect on 4 March 2009 at zero hours, for a period of five years;

(b) that the Rules adopted in 1988, as set out in the appendix to GB.301/7, would apply to the aforementioned appointment;

(c) that the candidatures submitted by a member State of the Organization or by a member of the Governing Body had to be received by the Chairperson of the Governing Body at the latest on Friday, 17 October 2008, at 11 a.m. to be taken into consideration.
