The Governing Body decided, by correspondence, to hold its 341st Session under the special arrangements and rules of procedure set out in the appendix to document GB.341/INS/1 in order to facilitate the conduct of the session and to hold its plenary sittings from Monday 15 to Saturday 27 March 2021.

Remarks

The Governing Body was consulted between 29 January and 4 February 2021 on the special arrangements and rules of procedure for the 341st Session of the Governing Body, set out in document GB.341/INS/1.

As no consensus was reached on the adoption of the draft decision, the Officers of the Governing Body, after consulting the tripartite Screening Group, determined that the draft decision concerning special arrangements be submitted to a ballot by only the regular members of the Governing Body on 12 February. At the close of that ballot at midnight on 18 February 2021, the Governing Body adopted the above decision with 43 votes in favour, 5 votes against and 5 abstentions.
