Crew are owed between 1 and 6 months wages. They have been left in a hotel for the past 40 days, and as the company have not paid the bill, the hotel are asking them to leave. This will make them homeless. They have no money for food or flights to go home and the local agent, who has also not been paid, no longer wants to assist. |

The crew list for the vessel ANADI, bearing the IMO number 9080871, as provided by our local agent on April 18, 2024, is attached.
The local agent has informed us that the vessel owners have neglected to pay a significant portion of the crew’s wages, reportedly six months’ worth, according to the crew. Additionally, the owners have failed to arrange off-shore accommodations for the crew as the vessel has been grounded in our territorial waters. They have also not settled the outstanding fines and fees due to the local agent. The delay in the salvage operations is inflicting considerable damage on our marine environment. Although the owners have been responding to the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA)’ correspondence, their responses lack the necessary urgency and attention that the severity of this grounding incident demands.
In a recent conversation with Captain Anup Pokhriyal, the Master of the vessel, he communicated several concerns regarding the crew's well-being and logistical challenges. Captain Pokhriyal reported that currently, one crew member is suffering from a fever. He also shared that two crew members previously contracted dengue fever. While local agents initially provided treatment, it was discontinued midway due to the failure of the vessel's owners to compensate these agents. Subsequently, the ITF stepped in to assist with medical expenses.
Regarding provisions, Captain Pokhriyal mentioned that the crew had received financial support for food through a local agent, but this, too, was discontinued because the owners had not fulfilled their payment obligations. However, he confirmed that they are maintaining contact with the ITF, which is now providing financial support for their sustenance.
Captain Pokhriyal expressed anticipation and some concerns about the crew's repatriation. He confirmed that the authorities have officially approved their sign-off.
