Legal proceedings with the local court have been initiated by the crew to arrest the vessel with ITF assistance

• The fish factory ship PROFESOR MYKHAYLO ALEKSANDROV arrived in the port of Las Palmas on 20/12/2021 for a 3 month call under the flag of Ukraine.
• On 26/04/2022 the Embassy of Ukraine in Spain informed that with the view to prepare the vessel for its next operation, Ukraine would send an official delegation of representatives of the Ukrainian fishing fleet to inspect the technical condition of the vessel, audit the existing documents and replace the crew and it therefore requested that precautionary measures be taken to:
- ensure control over the prevention of the departure from port of these vessels and ensure their temporary protection until the replacement of the crew.
- ensure free and unimpeded access of the members of the Ukrainian commission on board these seagoing vessels in order to carry out such inspection.
