Commentaires et observations: | Fed. int. des ouvriers du transport (ITF) (19 décembre 2023) We are trying to get food and water to the vessel urgently
Gouv. de Chine (28 janvier 2024) China Maritime Safety Administration has promptly organized personnel to conduct a thorough investigation into the situation of the vessel in question. Below are the findings: 1. Vessel Information: - Vessel Name: Grand Sunny - Vessel Type: General Cargo Ship - Flag State: Sierra Leone - IMO Number: 8784456 - Vessel Owner: Thousand Star International Ltd 2. Crew Situation on Board: Currently, there are 11 Indonesian seafarers. 3. Crew Situation Verification: China Maritime Safety Administration investigated the circumstances surrounding the crew's abandonment concerns through onboard inspections and crew interviews on 27th Dec. 2023. The conclusion is that there have indeed been instances of delayed wage payments to the crew, but the delays have not exceeded two months. Food and water supplies on the vessel are relatively sufficient, and the crew members do not express a strong desire for repatriation; their main request is for timely wage payment. The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Guangzhou has also contacted us, and both parties are closely cooperating to advance the progress of this case. We will also provide any assistance within our capabilities. Based on the above findings, it is not recommended to include the Grand Sunny vessel in the joint database for abandoned seafarers.
