Initially it was only one seafarer who reported unpaid salary and there was no evidence that the other Indian crew were not being paid and in any case they had not reported. There were reports from signed off crew who had not been paid 6 days of salary for December.
As soon as I wrote to the company and copied in the Flag state, the Indonesian 2nd Eng. received his wages and given a date of repatriation.
On the 27th January, the Indian 3rd Officer made contact and stated that December salaries had not been paid. I made another representation with the company and the Flag state.
Also drew their attention that the P&I Financial securities were not made available. It also looks that Korea P&I club are no longer providing the insurance cover. I have also directly asked the Flag state to confirm the P&I but until now I have no reply
