Commentaires et observations: | Organisation Internationale du Travail Liberia is planning to suspend the vessel from the Registry until MLC compliance is restored. Owners have refused to offer help to seafarers. Liberian registry state that repatriation can be offered but not wages.
Gouv. de Libéria Following notification from the ITF that the crew had not been paid, the Liberian Administration contacted the vessel’s Operator. The Operator confirmed that they were facing financial constraints and that they were working to resolve the issues. Liberia’s local UAE representative also met with the vessel’s Operator in UAE to ensure that the crew would be paid and repatriated. Consequently, the vessel was suspended from the Registry on 26 July 2017 until it restored compliance with MLC 2006, reinstated P&I coverage, and completed required audits/surveys. The seafarers were also offered repatriation in September 2017 by the Liberian Administration; however, they chose to stay on board until they were paid.
