We would like to inform you that Azerbaijan’s State Maritime and Port Agency has reviewed the ITF report on the case of the general cargo ship “Pallada” (IMO number 8866931) shared in the IMO/ILO joint database on abandonment. Regarding the Azerbaijani citizens involved, we have already informed the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Türkiye. Moreover, please note that any request or inquiry related to the outstanding wages or other issues from the Azerbaijani seafarers has not been received by the State Maritime and Port Agency.

On 19 January 2024, in the e-mail message sent to the Directorate General for Maritime Affairs : It was informed that the ship named 'PALLADA', IMO number 8866931, flag Cameroon, having on board 13 crew members, was abandoned in Karadeniz Ereğli on 27 November 2023.
According to the latest information received from Karadeniz Ereğli Regional Port Authority and the ship's agency SUDE Gemi Acenteliği Limited Company regarding the status of the ship and ship's personnel, it has been determined that the ship ran aground and broke into two due to heavy weather conditions off the coast of Karadeniz Ereğli district of Türkiye on 19 November 2023, and that all of the ship's personnel were successfully rescued and the salary receivables of the ship's personnel were paid.
