Govt. of Korea, Republic of (22 December 2023)
At the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, I oversee tasks ship inspections in accordance with the MLC agreement.
I'm reporting regarding the incident involving the seafarer abandonment of the KC HADONG vessel.

1. Firstly, the KC HADONG vessel is currently not in Busan Port. It arrived in Yeosu, South Korea, on 11.24 and has been anchored there since.
- Prior to this, a legal dispute arose between KCMaritime, the actual owner of KC HADONG, and another shipping company from Greece (referred to as "Company A"). * KC HADONG is BBCHP.
- Company A has requested for provisional seizure against the KC HADONG at the Suncheon Branch of the Gwangju District Court, and the vessel is currently unable to set sail and is docked in Yeosu.

2. Currently, KC Marine Time is in continuous contact with KC HADONG and is making efforts to improve the working conditions and survival of seafarers, such as supplying food, and explained that it is not abandoning seafarers as known in the attached file.
- On the morning of 12.22, KCMaritime informed the captain via email that they would take action regarding unpaid wages between 12.25 and 12.26, and that they plan to depart on 12.27.

ITF (18 March 2024)
