We have consulted the Skuld club on this abandonment case. Skuld was notified of a claim and worked closely with the insured owner to resolve this case as soon as practicable. The reason for nonpayment seemed to rest with the ship manager not making the payments to the crew and we understand that the owner has since replaced that manager.
On 30.11.23 Skuld received notification that the owner of Ultra Tatio remitted all outstanding amounts (US$375,275.73 in total) to the crew agent. The club has since received the bank slip and breakdown of payments from the owner. Skuld has also notified and sent such evidence to ITF. We trust this resolves this case, and the information we have provided is helpful to both ITF and the Marshall Islands registry.
