From IG P&I

Unfortunately, and as previously reported for the Ultra Tatio case, due to serious issues with the vessel’s contracted management company, the crew has not been paid and the owners have since replaced the manager. It is worth stipulating that the owner was not aware of the emerging situation with these two ships’ managers. I have consulted Skuld and unfortunately it has taken a little time to obtain the necessary information regarding crew contracts and a full overview of outstanding wages etc, which exceed the 4 months wages stipulated under MLC Standard 2.5.2. The club is in dialogue with the vessels owner to arrange payment (as they have done for the crew of the Ultra Tatio) and the club will step in should there be any unnecessary delays. I understand the club is in contact with ITF and both are following this case closely.

Other (18 December 2023)
From IG P&I

By way of an update to my previous message on this case. We can report the following:
The vessel owners/ managers have paid the outstanding amounts in full to the [new] manning agents as follows;
7 Dec. 2023: US$12,974.67
13 Dec. 2023: US$100,000.00
18 Dec. 2023: US$128,006.00
Total: US$240,980.67
I understand that Skuld has updated both the ITF and Panama Maritime Authority already and provided bank slips as evidence of payment to the crew.
Unless there are other matters arising from this case, we consider this abandonment could now be concluded and we would be grateful, if colleagues at the ITF and PMA agree, if it could be closed.

ITF (25 January 2024)
Management company transferred the outstanding wages of $241,655.67 to the crewing agent and the money was disbursed to each member of the crew
