All crew have repatriated but have issues around unpaid wages.
Payment status:18 October 2022: Payment Pending
Outstanding remuneration status is 70,000 USD.
Comments and Observations:Govt. of Panama (25 October 2022)
In this sense, we will proceed according to the regular procedure by contacting the Registered Owner, Operator and/or Local Resident Agents, regarding the labour complaint filed, and looking to obtain a promptly clarification and solution of the situation denounced.

Govt. of Panama (26 October 2022)
In relation to the case of the ship MV PROSPERITY we received the following response from the owner.

Attached, please find the decision and order of the Judge for Admiralty Suit No. 14 of 2020 of Bengladesh Courts which was filed by the seafarers as plaintiffs you had mentioned in your mail. The case has already been amicably settled and closed long ago as you may check in attached documents. As a matter of fact, there has never been pending sallaries to those seafarers in reality, we had receipts that were signed by them and received from each of them when paying on board, but, we had to pay the monies for the second time. We learned our lesson and taking photos and videos from seafarers after then on when paying in cash, on board. Please, we request you to delete this situation from your records and clean our company’s name and if you have further questions about those thieves, please you may contact the court directly.

In relation to the case of the ship MV PROSPERITY, IMO 8400531.
Just to remind you that we are waiting for your response, regarding the email sent on October 25, 2022, where we notify you of the response provided by the owner regarding the total payment of the debt.


International Maritime Organisation (23 November 2022)
The IMO sent a mail to the ITF as below.

Dear Steve and Jonathan,
I would be very pleased if you could advise on this case which I also forwarded last Friday. I understand that Ms. Luz Anayansi Prada at the Panama Maritime Authority would like to receive a confirmation, in particular on the status of this case.


Govt. of Panama (17 January 2023)
Through email dated December 28, 2022, ISWAN informs us that two(2) of the affected seafarers still have pending claims, both are in communication with their employer, who has been giving new dates regarding the payment of the remaining salaries.


Non-governmental Organization (31 March 2023)
From ISWAN
There has been no updates regarding payment of pending wages for 6 Bangladeshi seafarers. Both Indian seafarers are in communication with their owner. On 20th November 2022, both seafarers were paid 10,000 USD each. After payment of this amount, they still have outstanding claims respectively of 21950 USD and 15200 USD.
