Circumstances:Wages not paid since November 2017. Requests for repatriation and final settlement not met, Inadequate provision. Vessel blew aground on 10 Feb. Neither the owner or a representative of the owner has visited. Support provided by ITF, AOS and port authorities. Most certificates expired.

On the 10th of February Malta experienced a severe storm and the ship grounded. All crew members abandoned the ship safely and no casualties were recorded. All crew members were treated for shock and were checked by a medical team that attended to the crew at the scene of the grounding. The Authority in collaboration with the ITF representative in Malta to accommodate the crew at the Seafarers Centre.

27 February 2018: Repatriation pending
In line with MLC, 2006 provisions, the P&I Club is complying with its obligations and making arrangements for repatriation of the crew.

13 April 2018: Repatriated

Wages since November 2017 till 28th February 2018 (capped at 4 months): USD 29, 427 and Euro 9,000

Crew have been paid all four months of due wages( till the end of February)

There is no cooperation from the owner/manager and in fact to date they have not yet come to Malta. The owner/manager has been given a Wreck Removal Notice but to date is not meeting its obligations both in terms of local regulations and the applicable Statutory Instruments.
