Crew boarded in January 2020, but by June 2020 had only received one month’s salary. During that time the vessel was detained at Palermo due to deficiencies identified by PSC. Following owner taking crew to court for refusing to work, the crew agreed to leave the vessel with 1.5 months pay and remainder of outstanding wages to be paid by December 2020. |

Comentarios y observaciones: | Fed. Int. de los Trabajadores del Trasporte (ITF) (20 Octubre 2020) We remain concerned that the owner will not pay the balance of wages.
Togo (3 Diciembre 2020) As for the vessel Asso 6, the owner and crew reached an agreement before the Labor Court of Palermo (Italy) on 6th August 2020. This agreement made it possible to repatriate the sailors to their respective countries, while waiting for the arrears of their wages to be paid by the ship-owner by December 2020. The maritime administration is closely monitoring the progress of this matter in accordance with the agreement between the parties.
Fed. Int. de los Trabajadores del Trasporte (ITF) (5 Marzo 2021) The ITF recovered one and a half months owed wages, after which the case passed to the hands of the lawyer and the P&I club. In order to remove the seizure of the ship, the owner paid €40,000 to cover all outstanding seafarers’ wages plus other debts. The ship is now in normal operation in Libya. Resolved.
