Comments and Observations: | Govt. of Philippines (9 July 2021) From Consul and Alternate Representative to the IMO The Philippine embassy in Tehran was able to get in touch with one of the Filipino seafarers onboard vessel SAMED, namely Mr. Ruben Castillo. Mr Castillo said that he and a fellow Filipino seafarer Ronald Garcia are in good condition and are able to contact their families in the Philippines as well as their local manning agency. He said there is late ration of food and they have two months of unpaid salaries. We informed our Labor attache of the information given that the matter involves unpaid salaries. Home office had also been requested to contact the Philippine local meaning agency, Royalty Maritime Services Inc.
ITF (25 July 2022) The ex-Captain, the last crew member of the first abandoned crew has negotiated and agreed directly himself with the company and was paid 3 months and repatriated home. He has 2 pending months to be paid as per the Agreement he has with owners, 2 months after his repatriation.
