Comments and Observations: | ITF (25 October 2018) This case is very concerning given the additional circumstances reported by the crew. The shipowner in China and the company which signed the employment agreements, based in Korea, have denied any problem exists. The POEA has suspended the manning agent in the Philippines until the case is resolved.
ITF (8 January 2019) It should be noted that only the 16 Filipino crew members had complained of abandonment (non-payment of wages and withholding of food).
