Comments and Observations: | Other (10 June 2024) Government of Cook Islands
Upon receipt of the communication from ITF and further from IMO about the abandonment case, this Administration has actively engaged with the vessel managers to resolve the unpaid wages and repatriation issues.
In this period we have exchanged several communications, including requests for the needed supporting evidence, with the vessel managers. The latest communication about evidence of payment was received by this Administration yesterday; the vessel managers informed us that the crew onboard was fully paid and that the manager's crew department is in the process to finalise the repatriation of relevant crew.
We are processing the information received to make sure it is correct and that the outstanding wages have been actually paid. We will continue to actively engage with the vessel managers to make sure the repatriation of crew is carried out in the quickest and swiftest manner possible.
ITF is included in all communications with the vessel managers to guarantee due transparency and information sharing.
We will follow up with any relevant updates
