1. The Committee notes the Government’s reply to the 2002 direct request indicating that the proposal of Individual Learning Accounts (IKS) is still being processed at the government level. It further notes the information provided on the study support system and the grants for short-term studies for individuals who have a relatively short previous education and to stimulate further studies, administered by the trade unions and the National Agency for Special Education Support. It would appreciate continuing to receive information, in accordance with Part V of the report form, on the manner in which the Convention is applied in practice and, in this respect, asks the Government to provide extracts from any relevant reports, studies and inquiries, and available statistical data.
2. The Committee refers to the comments formulated on Convention No. 122 and would be grateful if the Government would also include in its next report on Convention No. 140 information on the steps taken to coordinate the national policy on paid educational leave with general policies on employment, education and training and hours of work (Article 4 of the Convention).
