The Committee notes that the Government’s report still follows the structure of the Maternity Protection Convention (Revised), 1952 (No. 103), which has been automatically denounced by the ratification of Convention No. 183. It requests the Government to provide a detailed report containing information on all articles of Convention No. 183 according to the report form adopted by the Governing Body.
Article 6 of the Convention. Medical benefits. Please detail the types of medical care provided to women during the prenatal period, the birth and the postnatal period, as well as the eligibility conditions and the conditions covering the cost of care.
Cash benefits. Pursuant to section 6 of the Social Insurance Act, women who had been contributing to national social insurance for less than six months are not entitled to paid maternity leave. In this regard, the Government states that in 2011 the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection presented a proposal to overturn this provision to the Cabinet Ministers. Please indicate whether this proposal was adopted.
Article 10. Nursing breaks. The Government indicates in its report that a bill on amendments and additions to the Labour Code was drafted, one of which provides for a separate room within or near the workplace that can be used as a crèche and for breastfeeding. Please indicate whether this bill has been adopted.
