Effect given to the recommendations of the committee and the Governing Body

1. 19. The Committee last examined this case at its June 2017 meeting. [See 382nd Report, paras 15–17.] On that occasion, the Committee indicated that it was expecting the Government to register the Higher Education Teachers’ Union (SESS) as a matter of urgency provided it met the conditions required by the administration. The Committee welcomes the information provided by the Government stating that the SESS was registered in February 2020. Recalling that the submission of the application for registration by the SESS dates back to January 2012, the Committee firmly expects the Government to take all the necessary measures to ensure in future a more expeditious processing of applications for the registration of representative organizations of employers and workers. In view of the above, the Committee considers this case closed and will not pursue its examination.
